Greetings! After a long and satisfying career in social work practice, education, and training my private practice has narrowed in scope. I now offer the following services which have been staples of my practice for years: Training and Consultation Pet Loss Support and Other Pet-Related Counseling
My trainings emphasize an exploratory perspective on our current best practices. I teach therapists and community workers how to integrate liberatory, client-informed, collaborative, creative, and humane perspectives into their work. Most recently I offered a training called "S.P.M.I.: Some Possibilities Might Include", which is designed to support client-directed transformative work with clients experiencing voice-hearing, non-consensual perspectives on reality, and extreme mood states. I will be offering more training soon, and in the interim, you can click over to the other page to see all of the topics I consult on. The list is pretty big because 40 years is a long time to spend working and growing with people, programs, and communities!
Pet loss support and counseling are short-term services for people whose pets are facing life-threatening conditions or whose pets have passed on. I am also available to those pet owners who are struggling with the stress of behavior issues and who are working with behavior programs. I am not a trainer or an animal behaviorist, but I am excellent at helping individuals and families manage the stress of loving and training a pet with some challenges.
